You just can’t make this stuff up. Vincent van Gogh’s Sunflowers painting was defaced at London’s National Gallery Friday by climate change wackos. Members of the group ‘Just Stop Oil’ poured soup all over the painting and then glued themselves to the wall.

Why? Because clueless, that’s why. The protesters are outraged that the UK is currently facing an energy crisis but equally do not want the countries to pursue new methods to drive down costs—Like drilling.

Members of the U.K.-based group have previously gained attention for gluing themselves to paintings at art galleries and blocking roads and even racetracks.

The activists say their goal is to “ensure that the government commits to ending all new licenses and consents for the exploration, development and production of fossil fuels in the UK.”

Just to note, The UK recently announced that they have already begun to deplete their winter reserves. Obviously, time is running out.

According to the BBC, The Metropolitan Police said: “Officers were rapidly on scene at the National Gallery this morning after two Just Stop Oil protesters threw a substance over a painting and then glued themselves to a wall.

“Both have been arrested for criminal damage and aggravated trespass. Officers are now de-bonding them.”

Videos of Friday’s incident showed a protester shouting: “What is worth more? Art or life? Is it worth more than food? Worth more than justice? Are you more concerned about the protection of a painting or the protection of our planet and people?”

So to be clear, these so-called ‘activist’ defaced a priceless piece of art because they’re angry that there is an energy crisis and subsequent inflation but they also don’t want their country to remedy that crisis by drilling for oil.

The art of a pauper, a poor man, who fell victim to suicide after a lifetime of rejection and poverty. Why victimized Van Gogh further by defacing his life’s work to protest inflation and the current energy crisis?

It’s like I said before—because, crazy.

On Saturday the pair were joined in court by another Just Stop Oil supporter who had doused a Scotland Yard sign in yellow paint.
