Chet Hanks, 36, confronted comedian Eric André in person last weekend at ComplexCon, capturing the encounter on video and posting it to Instagram.

The video shows Hanks approaching André as he walked through the convention, putting a hand on his shoulder. André turned and asked, “What’s up?” in a friendly tone, then “What’d I say?” as Hanks began confronting him. Hanks’s response can’t be heard on the tape, and André shrugs several times before walking away with his security detail, saying something about Hanks’s father, Tom Hanks. Hanks is heard laughing afterward, telling friends, “That was a long time coming.”

Writing on Instagram, Hanks said André “travels to ComplexCon with 4 security guards” and claimed André “had NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER of trashing me to the media after I outshined him on his own show.”

“Until after being sheltered by his security team, began foaming at the mouth and admitted it was because he had a problem with me ‘mocking Caribbean culture’ when I did my Jamaican accent all those years ago.”

Hanks added sarcastically, “WHO KNEW that in addition to the brain rot and poop joke humor he is known for, Eric is also such a passionate cultural activist!!! Great running into you Eric!!!!”

The feud dates back to Hanks’s June 2023 appearance on “The Eric Andre Show.” Months later, André told Rolling Stone that Hanks “broke our crew. It felt like ‘Rust.’ He broke us down.”

“He is … emotionally disturbed,” André told the magazine. “He stole a motorcycle and rode it around. He almost knocked a bunch of grips and gaffers off their ladders. It was very dangerous. He tried to prank us back, but we edited out all his bulls—! He’s not well. How did Colin Hanks come out so good and Chet Hanks come out so bad?”

At the time, Hanks fired back on his Instagram Stories, calling André a vulgar name and claiming in a video that he had “outshined” the comedian, saying he was only trying to “match energy” with André’s “weird, outlandish, troll” guests, according to Page Six.
