It is surprising that Caitlin Clark, a prominent figure in women’s basketball, would be the one to initiate an open and candid conversation about race in the country.
Bill Maher has brought up Caitlin Clark for two consecutive weeks, highlighting the criticism she has faced from women in the WNBA.
This criticism comes despite Clark’s significant contribution to increasing game attendance by one-third this year and elevating the profile of women’s basketball to unprecedented levels.
Instead of supporting and honoring Caitlin’s accomplishments, the women are hostile, aggressive, and unappreciative. It’s a distressing scene.
We were aware that the WNBA had issues and was generally uninteresting, but we didn’t realize how cruel these women could be.
This applies to the players on the court, the coaches, and the resentful, envious women in positions of authority.
On Friday night, Bill Maher discussed Caitlin Clark with his guest, Charlamagne The God.
CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD: “A’ja Wilson was the biggest thing when she came out of South Carolina … and she didn’t get all of that.”
BILL MAHER: “So what do you attribute that to? I mean, you’re saying that’s racism?”
CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD: “No, I’m not saying it’s racist. I’m just saying that I think A’ja Wilson has a point, and I think sometimes when, you know, black women say certain things, we should listen, especially her because I’m not in her shoes.”
BILL MAHER: “But why was Serena Williams such a big star? Because people like that. They didn’t not watch her because she was black, right?”
CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD: “Yeah.”
BILL MAHER: “Okay, so where are we with this?”
CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD: “I don’t know!”
