Liberal college campuses have been pushing the “woke” agenda onto their students, and California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) is no exception. Heck, we could easily argue that the entire ‘woke’ movement began in California colleges.
Recently, they published material on the institution’s website under the Personal Growth and Counseling Center section that suggests students “think broadly about what could be an act of racism.” This includes things like a professor not calling on students or teaching racially biased curriculum.
Not surprisingly, this move has caused some backlash from conservative-minded individuals who are fed up with liberal colleges pushing their agenda onto unsuspecting students. Three Campus Reform correspondents even spoke to “Fox & Friends Weekend” in order to voice their complaints.
Florida State University graduate law student Darryl Boyer said: “I believe when Francis Bellamy wrote ‘One Nation under God, Indivisible,’ we oftentimes overlook that word indivisible. We must stop dividing our nation and come together as one.” Boyer further added that he feels dehumanized by the university’s request for students to report professors for racism – something he has never experienced himself due to his skin color.
University of Central Florida student Courtney McLain also chimed in on this issue, claiming she has witnessed more of the conceptual framework of diversity, equity, and inclusion enforced in her school – which takes away from academic learning and is putting too much money into it.
“I’m frustrated because I feel like I’m not learning as much academically as I could because we’re putting so much money into this,” McLain said. “We’re seeing this in more and more schools across the country, that these students are just being believed automatically, which worries me because when I need to go to my administration about a problem, they don’t want to believe me since sometimes these students are actually saying things that are incredible.”
Emily Sturge from the University of Florida joined in as well; saying that these moves are just another example of “wokeism taking over college campuses” and how liberals are winning culture wars by injecting woke ideologies into course curriculums – something which she called “absolutely crazy.”
It’s clear that many conservatives feel strongly about this issue – but will anyone take action? Will politicians step up and do something about all the liberal agendas being pushed onto college campuses? Only time will tell!
I wouldn’t hold my breath, this crap began in colleges and has stewed there for years!
