(Conservative Tribune) For those conservatives who were skeptical of the pro-life stance claimed by President Donald Trump prior to his election, the subject of a bill he just signed into law should put any remaining concerns at ease.

According to The Associated Press, Trump just signed a piece of legislation that would allow individual states to withhold or shift federal funds away from health care clinics that provide abortion services.

The bill, which utilized the formerly little-used Congressional Review Act for the 12th time and needed a tie-breaking vote from Vice President Mike Pence to pass the Senate, rolled back a last-minute regulation imposed by former President Barack Obama that specifically prohibited states from blocking federal funds destined for family planning clinics that provide abortions, even as it remained illegal for federal funds to be used for abortions.

Now states will be permitted to decide where Title X federal funds can go be disbursed, which means those states intent on defunding Planned Parenthood clinics may proceed.
