The introduction of articles of impeachment by Representative Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) on Tuesday night highlights the dire immigration crisis plaguing our nation and Joe Biden’s failure to address it.
The resolution, known as H. Res. 503, contains two articles accusing President Biden of failing to enforce immigration laws and secure the borders; resulting in a massive influx of illegal immigrants into our country and compromising national security.
Unfortunately, this news has been overshadowed by court filings revealing a sweetheart plea deal for Hunter Biden related to tax offenses and a felony firearm crime.
While Hunter’s legal situation is important, it should not distract us from the real issue at hand: Joe Biden’s mishandling of immigration policy and its impact on American citizens.
Article 1 of the impeachment resolution claims that President Biden’s open borders agenda knowingly allowed over 2 million illegal immigrants into the United States without proper immigration court proceedings or guarantees.
In particular, his ending of the Migrant Protection Protocols (or “Remain in Mexico” policy) and his refusal to cooperate with state and local law enforcement officials have resulted in an uncontrolled surge at our southern border — one that has put national security at risk while endangering American citizens.
Likewise, Article 2 accuses President Biden of dereliction of duty; specifically neglecting his constitutional responsibility to enforce immigration laws and secure our border with Mexico.
His failure to uphold mandatory detention and deportation provisions have further exacerbated an already serious problem; allowing potentially dangerous individuals entry into the US without regard for their criminal histories or affiliations with terrorist organizations.
It is clear that Joe Biden’s approach towards immigration is not only irresponsible but dangerous as well, putting countless Americans in harm’s way while refusing to acknowledge or take ownership for what he himself has caused.
Rather than addressing this issue head-on, he has chosen instead to deflect blame onto others while offering no solutions other than empty rhetoric about “compassionate reform” which will do nothing more than perpetuate this cycle indefinitely — all while enriching political allies like billionaire financiers George Soros who stands to profit from such lax policies through his numerous liberal advocacy groups which stand ready to exploit any loopholes they can find within our system for their own gain.
Boebert: “I am bringing my articles of impeachment against Joe Biden to the House Floor in a privileged motion, meaning that every Member of Congress must vote on holding Joe Biden accountable,” Boebert tweeted.
“Biden intentionally ceded command & control of our border to cartels. His dereliction of duty caused the deaths of over 900 Coloradans from fentanyl, enabled sex-trafficking, & allowed an invasion,” Boebert wrote in another tweet.
