During a recent live segment on NBC Nightly News, anchor Lester Holt and correspondent Zinhle Essamuah brought attention to the water crisis in Jackson, Mississippi. The pair discussed the issue of “environmental justice” and the potential role of racism in the lack of access to clean water in the city. They referenced the NAACP and the Biden administration’s Environmental Protection Agency’s suggestion that racism could be a factor in the crisis.

The water crisis in Jackson, Mississippi has become a major concern for the city and its residents. The lack of access to clean water has become an urgent issue, and the NAACP and the Biden administration’s Environmental Protection Agency have suggested that racism could be a factor in the crisis. NBC News highlighted this issue on their Thursday night broadcast, bringing attention to the potential role of racism and environmental justice in the water crisis.

NBC News did not provide evidence to back up the suggestion that racism is a factor in the water crisis in Jackson, Mississippi.

“The water crisis triggering an NAACP complaint in September alleging racist policies by Governor Tate Reeves and the state of Mississippi claiming federal money was allocated to smaller majority white communities instead of Jackson,” Essamuah hyped in her report.

She then touted how the EPA is crying racism in Mississippi by “investigating if Mississippi violated the Civil Rights Act.”

Turning to EPA administrator Michael Regan, Essamuah outrageously asked why a “city that’s over 80 percent black is facing a decades-long water crisis?”

Regan responded that “environmental justice is a serious issue in this country, which is why the President has made it a priority.”

“We know black, brown, tribal communities, low-income communities have seen a lack of investment, but also are on the front lines of the impacts of these lack of investments in climate change,” Regan huffed.

“Climate change” and “environmental justice.” Regan got all of the leftist buzzwords in during this segment with the nodding approval of NBC’s Essamuah.

What I want to point out here in contrast to what Biden’s guy and NBC are claiming is that Jackson was warned about their outdated infrastructure years ago. In all that time, with the funding its officials received to repair the problems, nothing was done. Lawmakers in Jackson waited until it created a crisis to react and of course their goal is to pretend to be outraged—Otherwise taxpayers might want to know what the hell they did with the money.
