Just a few short weeks ago, Joe Biden said he was going to fight energy prices with everything he has. He probably did, but only because he had so little to give. He stopped construction of the Keystone Pipeline while removing sanctions from Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline that benefitted the Russians greatly. He has stopped the sale of oil and gas leases on public land by increasing the cost of emissions from $.07 a ton to $.51 per ton.
Biden was taken to court over the ridiculous charge for emissions and he lost. A federal judge says that Biden does not have the power to do that. The Keystone pipeline would have given us about 830,000 barrels of oil a year or about the same amount that we buy from Russia. In essence, we are giving Russia the money to invade Ukraine.
U.S. District Judge James Cain of the Western District of Louisiana “blocked federal agencies from using the unrealistic $.51 price and ordered it changed back to $.07. But, dictators never listen to the people as they are only interested in themselves. He steadfastly refuses to obey court orders.
The Wall Street Journal reported:
“Brent crude, the international oil benchmark, traded above $100 per barrel Thursday morning. Futures for West Texas Intermediate, the main grade of U.S. crude, topped $96 per barrel late Wednesday, putting them up 28% this year and 52% over the past 12 months. The benchmark, which briefly had a value less than zero after crashing in spring 2020 as the pandemic unfolded, is now at its highest level since 2014.”
Biden said:
“As we respond, my administration is using every tool at our disposal to protect American businesses and consumers from rising prices at the pump. As I said last week, defending freedom will have costs for us as well, and here at home. We need to be honest about that.”
“But as we will do — but as we do this, I’m going to take robust action to make sure the pain of our sanctions is targeted at the Russian economy, not ours. We are closely monitoring energy supplies for any disruption. We’re executing a plan in coordination with major oil-producing consumers and producers toward a collective investment to secure stability and global energy supplies.”
Make yourself a sandwich or a drink or both as I go through all of my month’s receipts.
I knew! I knew it! I knew it! I didn’t buy even an ounce of Biden’s bulls*#t.
