Biden Drops Big Bucks On A Last Minute Trip To Delaware, WH Claims It Was Justified

WASHINGTON, DC - JUNE 17: Democratic U.S. presidential hopeful and former Vice President Joe Biden addresses the Moral Action Congress of the Poor People's Campaign June 17, 2019 at Trinity Washington University in Washington, DC. The Campaign held the event to focus on issues like “voting rights, health care, housing, equitable education, indigenous sovereignty, living wage jobs and the right to join a union, clean air and water, and an end to gun proliferation and war mongering and other issues in our moral agenda.” (Photo by Alex Wong/Getty Images)

Old Joe Biden blew big taxpayer dollars on a last-minute trip to Delaware after delivering his failed victory speech on inflation. The short of which is that Biden declared victory over inflation amid breaking reports of a stock market did and ongoing inflation. Afterwhich, Biden felt complete for the week and ended his work week on a Tuesday with a trip to Delaware…

As one does.

Biden employed Air Force One, two motorcades and local police protection to travel from Washington, D.C., to Delaware just to vote Tuesday, rather than filing an absentee ballot as past presidents have. Jean-Pierre attempted to explain the decision during a press gaggle with reporters Wednesday.

“Can you tell us why the president went to Wilmington yesterday to vote in the primary when he could have had an absentee ballot, or he could have voted in person early voting when he was there last weekend?” a reporter asked.

“I know there’s been a lot of interest in this. So every American, as you know, has the sacred and constitutional right to vote. The president exercised that right alongside other Delawareans last night,” Jean-Pierre responded.

“The president has a very heavy schedule. He’s the president of the United States. It worked out best for him to vote yesterday, to vote on Tuesday. He thought it was important to exercise his constitution, the right to vote, as I just mentioned, and set an example by showing the importance of voting,” she added.

The exact cost of Biden’s trip to Delaware is unclear, but the Air Force revealed in 2014 that the average cost per flying hour (CPFH) of the Presidential Boeing 747 was $206,337.

Silver lining? Biden took the smaller Boeing 757 version of AF1 on the trip, according to Bloomberg. How much money did that save taxpayers? I have no idea. What I do know is it would have been a hell of a lot cheaper if Joe would have just mailed it in. Does he not trust the absentee ballot system? I mean, if the president doesn’t trust the system—We’re all screwed.

In the end, it was a costly photo-op for no other reason.
