During Joe Biden’s speech at the Democratic National Convention on Monday, a disruption occurred when an anti-Israel protester wearing a hijab unfurled a “Stop Arming Israel” banner in the crowded arena.
As she displayed the banner, a man standing several rows behind her used his three-foot “We love Joe” sign to hit her on the head, striking her multiple times.
The incident was captured on video and has since circulated on social media.

In response to the banner, other attendees in the arena tried to block its visibility by using their own large signs. In addition, one person attempted to physically remove the pro-Gaza banner from the protester and her group.
The crowd surrounding the protesters then started chanting “We love Joe” after the banner was displayed.
The situation escalated when the lights above the protesters were switched off and they were eventually escorted out of the convention hall.
The incident has sparked controversy online, with many condemning the man for his actions.
Social media users have called for the identification of the individual who removed the protester’s banner and suggested that legal action should be considered.
Comments on social media express outrage and disapproval, with some questioning whether physical confrontation was necessary.
During his speech, Joe Biden addressed the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.
He reiterated his commitment to addressing the crisis by stating, “We’ll keep working to bring hostages home and end the war in Gaza and bring peace and security to the Middle East.”
Biden also acknowledged the suffering on both sides of the conflict, noting, “Those folks down the street have a point: A lot of innocent people are being killed on both sides.”
Biden goes off-script at the DNC:
“Those protestors out there in the street, they have a point. A lot of innocent people are being killed on both sides.”
