In the midst of the chaos on Capitol Hill, small glimmers of hope can be seen in through the fog.
With Joe Biden’s approval numbers plummeting and having burnt through his political capital, his radical policies and the leftists he has put forward to join his Marxist regime, are also under increased scrutiny.
The second amendment of the US Constitution says: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
In spite of this universal right for American citizens to own arms, David Chipman, an anti-gun extremist was nominated to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
During his confirmation hearing, Senate Republicans pressed Chipman over a recent interview in which he said new gun owners who have no training should only bring their guns out “if the zombies start to appear.” The nominee responded that the comments were “self-deprecating.”
The committee deadlocked on the nomination along party lines, which would have forced the Senate to vote to discharge him.

On Thursday The White House withdraw David Chipman’s nomination to run the ATF, according to three sources close to the process.
Chipman is currently a senior policy advisor to Giffords, a gun control group, and faced an uphill battle to Senate confirmation as President Joe Biden’s point person on firearms regulation. Sen. Angus King (I-Maine) had previously told the Biden administration and Senate Democrats that he was not supportive of the nominee. Other moderate Democratic senators, including Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Jon Tester of Montana, have also remained noncommittal on the pick.
Chipman, meanwhile, faced universal opposition from Senate Republicans.

Republicans celebrated the announcement via multiple tweets
Donald Trump Jr. tweeted:
We defeated this anti-2A gun grabber and we'll defeat all of Biden's attempts to restrict our Second Amendment rights!

“David Chipman is an unhinged gun-grabber. His defeat is a win for the Constitution—and a crushing loss for Joe Biden,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AK) tweeted:

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) reacted by taking personal credit for Chipman’s failure while suggesting Chipman was a “terrible nomination.”
“Glad to hear reports the White House is taking my advice and pulling the terrible nomination of David Chipman,” McConnell said. “Absurd that a vocal opponent of Americans’ constitutional rights was ever picked to run ATF. This is a win for the Second Amendment and law-abiding American citizens.”:
