President Trump Forces Pelosi & Dems To Make Critical Mistake, & Take Undeniable Ownership of Shutdown, Call Trump’s Proposed Deal A ‘Non-Starter’

Opinion | On Saturday, President Trump revealed his offer to the Democrats to end the ongoing partial government shutdown.

It was immediately rejected by numerous Democrats.

In his Address to the Nation, President Trump outlined the issues taking place at the United States shared border with Mexico, all while attempting to unite with liberals.

Conservative Tribune explains, “Offering to extend the controversial DACA program for undocumented immigrants who were brought to the country by their parents, he urged Democrats to work with him to find a bipartisan solution to the ongoing government funding situation.”

“Trump announced that he was prepared to back a three-year extension of protections for 700,000 immigrants who came to the country illegally as children and were shielded from deportation under the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program,” Fox News reported.

“This, in exchange for the $5.7 billion he has requested for a barrier on the southern border with Mexico,” the outlet also reported.

When it came to the Temporary Protected Status program, President Trump had a similar compromise. This program would aid migrants who are attempting to flee places like Honduras. They would also allow them to remain in the United States for longer periods of time.

Democrats were insisting that they weren’t going to accept Trump’s terms even before he addressed the nation on live television.

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi came out ahead of the announcement to say the anticipated proposal comprised a ‘compilation of several previously rejected initiatives, each of which is unacceptable and in total, do not represent a good-faith effort to restore certainty to people’s lives,’” Fox reported.

“It is unlikely that any one of these provisions alone would pass the House, and taken together, they are a non-starter,” Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared.

Pelosi could easily influence Democrats to support the compromise if she tried, as she is House Speaker. She’s not willing to budge, and she’s made that very clear.

“For one thing, this proposal does not include the permanent solution for the Dreamers and TPS recipients that our country needs and supports,” Pelosi complained.

Democrat Senator Dick Durbin offered up a similar sentiment when he rejected the President’s offer before Trump’s address. He also flat-out rejected Trump’s offer to come up with a bipartisan solution.

“I cannot support the proposed offer as reported and do not believe it can pass the Senate,” Durbin said, claiming that the left would consider Trump’s proposal only if he signed a budget proposal which would end the partial government shutdown. So, this means Trump would give an inch for them to potentially take a mile and not end the government shutdown? Not a very good deal for Trump.

Take a look:

Conservative Tribune explains:

While public opinion has been split down party lines on who is responsible for the recent government shutdown, it’s hard to deny that Democrats are now the ones standing in the way of an agreement.

Trump’s Saturday announcement showed that he is willing to concede key policies to Democrats, with his offer to extend DACA a particularly important move. But if Democrats aren’t able to meet him halfway, they now appear petty and childish as the shutdown — and the border crisis — drags on.

The fact that liberals didn’t even wait to listen to Trump’s address in good faith before bashing his proposal does not put them in a good light. Despite a media frenzy to make the president look like an extremist, it now appears to be Democrats like Pelosi and Durbin who are putting partisan politics ahead of the American people.

Pelosi and Shumer do not want the wall . But they want to get their bills pushed through congress and the house. That is why they are promising to deal . But they want government open . So they can push their Bill . Then we would end up with nothing . So no wall . Government stays shut. Until we have funding for the wall
