At least 22 people were shot, two fatally, in Chicago between Friday and Sunday, according to a CBS News report. The victims ranged in age from 14 to 64 years old, with at least two killed and 20 others wounded as of midday Sunday.
The weekend’s first fatal shooting occurred just before 7 p.m. Friday, when a 49-year-old man was shot inside a residence in the 7900 block of South Hermitage Avenue. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died of his wounds.
The second fatal shooting took place around 5:20 a.m. Saturday, when someone entered a residence in the 3000 block of North Lotus Avenue and shot a 60-year-old man to death. The suspect fled before police arrived and has not been apprehended.
Separately, ABC 7 reported on a Friday night shooting in which the victim survived. Police say two men shot a 64-year-old man around 6:30 p.m. in a parking garage in the 400 block of East Illinois Street in Streeterville. Two suspects, ages 22 and 16, have been charged in that incident and are believed to be connected to other armed robberies that occurred Friday night.
No arrests have been reported in either of the two fatal shootings.
